If your child’s illness or injury is life-threatening, call 9-1-1.

We understand that children don’t always get sick during regular business hours so we have options to serve you after hours.

Urgent Care Locations

Washington University Children’s After Hours is available for concerns when our office is closed (locations in South County, O’Fallon, MO, and Edwardsville, IL).

Exchange Phone Line

For other emergencies and urgent situations when our office is closed, please call our exchange at 314-362-0224.

Calls are answered by one of our providers or the nurse triage service from St. Louis Children’s Hospital. Please have the following information ready when you call:

• Your child’s main symptoms
• Any chronic disease or health problem
• Your child’s approximate weight
• The names and dosages of any medicines your child is taking
• Your pharmacy’s phone number, in case a prescription is necessary

While we are happy to assist you and your sick child after hours, we ask that you reserve non-urgent calls for regular business hours. Routine questions, scheduling issues and prescription refills should be discussed during regular office hours. Thank you for understanding.
